asked the Minister of Works how many hotels, large houses, small houses and flats, respectively, in the London Civil Defence Region are at present requisitioned by the Government; and how many of each category have been released for use as dwelling accommodation since 30th September, 1946.

Mr. KEY, pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 21st April, 1947; Vol. 436, c. 602], supplied the following information:

Government Departments have released from requisition eight hotels, 62 large houses, 40 small houses and 522 flats in the London Civil Defence Region in the period 30th September, 1946–31st March, 1947. In addition requisitioning Departments have transferred to the Ministry of Health 91 large houses, 132 small houses and 30 flats, for housing purposes. The Ministry of Health have released 1,761 small houses and 471 flats to their owners.
