CrippsThe price paid for the 10 million lb. of tobacco which was purchased by His Majesty's Government from Greece last year to assist the Greek economy, and is now being imported, was 4s. 7½d. per lb., f.o.b., which is a normal price for tobacco of this type. It is sold to manufacturers at 3s. 1d. per lb., c.i.f., which is the average price they would have had to pay for tobacco from other sources.
