79. Mr. Marlowe

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware that many holders of E coupons, granted for business purposes, have been prevented by the weather from travelling on the business in question and will have to make up the distance in the ensuing period; and whether he will, in the circumstances, extend the validity of E coupons due to expire on 31st March.

These coupons are issued for four monthly periods and the quantity allowed is assessed in accordance with the essential journeys the applicant can show it is necessary for him to perform during the period There is, therefore, no need to extend the validity of coupons issued in respect of a previous period.
