HC Deb 12 March 1947 vol 434 cc190-1W
68. Mr. Langford-Holt

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty how many Fairey Swordfish have been preserved for museum and exhibition purposes; and where these aircraft are now located.

Mr. Dugdale

One Swordfish aircraft complete with typical wartime equipment has been accepted by the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, for preservation as a museum piece. Pending the com- pletion of structural reconstruction of the museum, this aircraft is being stored at the Royal Naval Air Station, Stretton, Cheshire. Two other Swordfish aircraft are being held for exhibition purposes and are at present at the Royal Naval Air Station, Arbroath, Angus.
