§ 66. Colonel Wheatleyasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what is the reason for the delay in the application of the revised salary scales for scientific officers on production duties in the Armament Supply Department of the Admiralty.
§ Mr. W. EdwardsThe delay in settling revised salary scales for these officers, which I regret, is due to two main causes. Firstly, it has become necessary to reexamine certain aspects of the problem as a result of further discussions with the staff association concerned. Secondly. it is necessary to take account of developments in connection with the revision of scales for comparable grades in other departments. I trust that it will be possible to announce the revised scales before very long.
