§ Mr. Glenvil HallDuring 1946, 22,238 persons were declared successful in competitions for the permanent Civil Service conducted by the Civil Service Commissioners; of these, 252 were in the administrative class. During 1947 it is estimated that the corresponding intake will be approximately 30,300, including 250 to the administrative class. No central record is kept of temporary appointments made by Government Departments.
