HC Deb 12 March 1947 vol 434 c204W
105. Mr. Lipson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation if he has considered the resolution passed by both Houses in the States of Guernsey and of Jersey that Channel Islands Airways might be allowed to continue as an associate company of B.E.A.; and, as a similar concession has been granted to Malta and Cyprus, if he will agree to the request.

Mr. Lindgren

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department and my noble Friend have under consideration resolutions of the States of Guernsey and of Jersey regarding application of the Civil Aviation Act, 1946, to the Channel Islands under Section 55 of that Act. The resolutions do not refer to Channel Islands Airways. I hope that an announcement about the application of the Act to the Islands will shortly be made simultaneously here and in the Islands.
