§ 104. Mr. Pitmanasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, whether, in view of the undoubted confusion arising from the use of the initials B.O.A.C., B.E.A.C. and B.S.A.A.C., as abbreviations for the British civil airways, he will, by size of type and by emphasis of speech, give special prominence to the two words "British Airways," which are common to all three Corporations, and will discontinue abbreviations which carry no direct association with Britain.

§ Mr. Lindgren"British" and "Airways" are common to the titles of all three Corporations and, therefore, ensure to them a natural prominence. Some indication in the titles of their separate existence and spheres of operation is desirable and I am satisfied that the initials of these titles are now so widely known and so generally used that any confusion, if it exists, is unlikely to continue.
