§ 105 Commander Nobleasked the Secretary of State for War when Regular officers will be allowed to retire from the Army; and whether special consideration will be given now to officers over 35 years of age.
§ Mr. BellengerAs I indicated in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Central Aberdeen and Kincardine (Mr. Spence) on l0th December, the ban on retirement is being progressively lifted. Regular substantive lieutenant-colonels and majors are already allowed to retire or resign on reaching the prewar age limit of their corps. Further instructions will shortly be issued reducing these age limits.
