179W
§ Mr. J. HyndNo British drivers replaced German drivers in this period except possibly in isolated instances. In a very few cases, British clerks now perform duties, which, pending their arrival, had, temporarily been undertaken by Germans.
180WThe general policy is, however, to employ German clerks wherever possible and they now constitute 78 per cent. of the total employed, as against 74 per cent. in September.
