Mr. Sharp

asked the Secretary of State for War how many pay and records offices there are on the home establishment; what is their entitlement of officers, other ranks, A.T.S. and civilians, and how many are actually so employed; what reductions have been made during the last 12 months; and what further reductions does he propose.

There are now 17 main Record Offices and 55 Pay Offices in the United Kingdom. The entitlement of staff is dependent on the number of records or pay accounts maintained, together with
