HC Deb 27 February 1947 vol 433 cc328-9W
115. Sir W. Smithers

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will so amend the regulations that taxicab drivers can have an enclosed driving seat.

Mr. Ede

I assume that the Question refers to the Metropolitan. Police District. There is nothing in the regulations prescribed by the Commissioner of Police as to the construction of taxicabs to prevent the enclosure of the driver's compartment.
