HC Deb 27 February 1947 vol 433 c311W
4. Brigadier Mackeson

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement, expressing in numbers and percentage, as to how many answers to questionnaires were received by his Department in, respectively, 1936 and 1946.

Sir S. Cripps

No complete record exists for 1936, but it is known that about 160,000 forms were sent out in that year. The corresponding figure for 1946 is about 825,000. In each year the replies received represented 97 per cent. of the forms despatched.
