109. Mr. Wilkes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the British Government will take action, as authorised under Article 20 of the United Nations Charter, and request that the Security Council shall agree to convene through the Secretary General a meeting of the Assembly at the earliest convenient date in order to consider the question of Palestine and to make their recommendation for the interim policing and administration of this country until the Assembly makes its decision known

My right hon. Friend is still considering the method of our approach to the General Assembly. It is not his present intention to ask the United Nations to make any recommendation concerning interim policy in Palestine
