HC Deb 24 February 1947 vol 433 c239W
66. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of Works how many provincial museums and art galleries were occupied by different Government Departments during the war: and how many are still so occupied.

Mr. Key

Ten Provincial Museums and Art Galleries are occupied either wholly or in part by Government Departments; five by the Ministry of Food and one each by the Home Office, Ministry of Transport, Admiralty, H.M. General Register House, Edinburgh and the Department of Health for Scotland. Complete information about such occupations during the war is not readily available.
