asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give, for England and Wales for the year 1946, the number of crimes of murder known to the police; the numbers of males and females, respectively, who were the victims; the numbers of males and females, respectively, who were charged with murder; and the numbers of males and females, respectively, who were acquitted.

The number of Irish prisoners at present serving sentences imposed in connection with the I.R.A. outrages in this country in 1939 is 36. I am sending my hon. Friend the further particulars for which he asks.
