asked the Minister of Food if he will discontinue the purchase of grapefruit and other fruits from the U.S.A. and other dollar areas, in view of the necessity of conserving dollar exchange.

In pursuance of the policy to improve the variety of the diet, my Department has bought in the U.S.A. a quantity of citrus and other fruits. The hon. Member may, however, rest assured that we are certainly looking at our import policy in the light of all relevant factors, including our balance of payments position
