HC Deb 20 February 1947 vol 433 c215W
117 Mr. Sargood

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, having regard to the lack of suitable women for employment in women's penal establishments under the direction of his Department, he will consult with the Ministers concerned with a view to recruiting from the various branches of the women's Services attached to the Armed Forces suitable women who have had experience in social services or in detention camps in the Forces, for employment in women's penal establishments when they are about to leave the Forces.

Mr. Ede

Yes, Sir, I have for some time been in touch with the Ministers concerned who have given me their willing co-operation. I will consider with them whether any further steps can usefully be taken.
