asked the Minister of Fuel and Power the total value of the mining machinery and equipment bought from the U.S.A. or from any other source during 1946.

Mr. Shinwell

The total value of mining machinery and equipment bought by the Mining Industry of the United Kingdom in 1946 amounted to £11,175,000, of which £10,995,000 was expended in this country, £170,000 in the U.S.A. and 50,00o in Belgium.
