§ Mr. MacLeodasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of applications for grants made by local authorities in the Highland counties for regional water supplies to rural areas, and the number for which grants have been given and refused.
§ Mr. WestwoodFive applications for grant under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act, 1944, have been made by four local authorities in the Highland counties for regional water supply schemes in their areas. No definite offer of grant has yet been made to any Scottish local authority, but with a view to offering grant on two of the regional schemes submitted, I have asked for certain further information from the two local authorities concerned.
