97. Mr. Lipson

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if, in view of the fact that the severe weather has rendered motoring impossible in many areas, he will extend for one month the validity of basic petrol coupons which normally should expire on 28th February.

Mr. Shinwell

For reasons of supply and distribution I am afraid that I cannot extend the period of validity of basic ration coupons beyond the month of issue and the next following month.
