HC Deb 13 February 1947 vol 433 c84W
93. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he has considered using the 33-ton portable diesel generators now stored at Liphook, Marshwood, etc., each being capable of generating 300 kilowatts per hour, in view of the coal saving involved and the additional power and light they would give.

Mr. Shinwell

I am informed that the diesel generators to which the hon. Member refers are the property of the War Office and are all awaiting either repair or overhaul. They are, moreover, still required by the War Office.
