HC Deb 10 February 1947 vol 433 cc1-2W
14. Sir G. Fox

asked the Minister of Food why fish and meat paste exported abroad has 98 per cent. meat or fish and 2 per cent. cereals packed specially for export, while the home articles contain 70 per cent. meat or fish and 30 per cent. cereals

Mr. Strachey

Although fish and meat pastes sold in this country must contain at least 70 per cent. fish or 55 per cent. meat, there is no upper limit on the amount which may be used either for export or for sale at home. In point of fact, very little meat paste is being exported at present.
