Mr. Prescott

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation if he will give a list of the airfields in the United Kingdom used for public passenger services at which the Standard Beam Approach System is installed.

Standard Beam Approach equipment is installed and in operation at the following airfields which are used for public passenger services: Aberdeen (Dyce), Belfast (Nutts Corner), Bovingdon (used as a diversionary airport), Croydon, Hurn, London Airport, Northolt, Prestwick, Ronaldsway, and Whitchurch (Bristol). Installation of Standard Beam Approach equipment is also in an advanced state and completion is expected within three months at Renfrew, Stornoway, Inverness (Delcross), Manchester (Ringway), and Sumburgh. Standard Beam Approach installations will be installed at 22 further airfields as the sites are acquired.
