HC Deb 05 February 1947 vol 432 c359W
109. Mr. Rees-Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps are being taken in Malaya for the purpose of inducing government and municipal departments and private firms to encourage their employees to grow foodstuffs in order to combat high prices and the black market.

Mr. Creech Jones

The Government has instituted a general "Grow more food" campaign and given it wide publicity. There has been an excellent response throughout the whole territory, and successful and popular agricultural shows have been held in all districts.
