HC Deb 05 February 1947 vol 432 c356W
73. Mr. Piratin

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether, in view of the general shortage of foodstuffs in Austria, he will make representations to the U.S. authorities in Austria to cease exporting Austrian-grown foodstuffs from the U.S. zone.

Mr. J. Hynd

I have the authority of the United States Element of the Allied Commission for Austria to state that they are not exporting any Austrian-grown foodstuffs from their zone. On the contrary, the American authorities have been responsible for bringing large quantities of food into Austria for the civil population.
