HC Deb 04 February 1947 vol 432 c323W
90. Mr. Dye

asked the Secretary of State for War how much land now included in the Stanford battle-training area in the parish of Wretham is being ploughed for cropping this year.

Mr. Bellenger

I cannot say how much will be ploughed, but I have agreed, so far as I am concerned, that an area in the neighbourhood of Wretham, which is on the edge of the battle training area and formed part of the safety-belt, may be released for cultivation on the clear understanding that users cultivate it at their own risk, as I cannot give an assurance that there are no unexploded missiles in the area.
