81. Mr. Philips Price

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the need of conserving our dollar resources and in view of the fact that 32 per cent. of our dollar imports from U.S.A. is tobacco, he will, in future, reduce this amount and replace it by tobacco from Turkey where surpluses are available for export to this country.

No, Sir. We are already receiving from Turkey as much tobacco of that type as the United Kingdom market can absorb.
