HC Deb 03 February 1947 vol 432 cc285-6W
95. Mr. Price-White

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the numerous complaints in the Bangor area of Caernarvonshire on the part of workers against the withdrawal of the privilege previously extended to them of having priority in omnibus queues at certain hours of the day; and if he will issue instructions for a restoration of that privilege so that workers may not suffer their present inconvenience and hardship of unduly late arrival at their homes after work.

Mr. Barnes

I am advised that there is some congestion in the Bangor area at present owing to seasonal shortening of the working hours at the quarries. The Crosville Motor Services are, unfortunately, not in a position to run additional relief vehicles. I do not think that conditions in the Bangor district warrant the re-introduction of a priority system which has now been largely withdrawn throughout the country.
