StraussThe aim of this order is to speed up deliveries of turbo-alternators by introducing standard specifications. 1st November, 1946, was chosen 291W as the operative date since, owing to the production time cycle, the specification for orders placed on or after that date could still be altered to conform to the new standards and so result in earlier deliveries.
