HC Deb 15 December 1947 vol 445 c278W
92. Mr. D. Marshall

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware that fishermen's clothing gets saturated with salt and that more than the usual quantity of soap is required for laundering by the wives of fishermen; and whether he will, in consequence, make an increased allowance of soap in such cases.

Mr. Strachey

I am afraid that with the present shortage of fats I cannot make an extra allowance of soap to individual workers except on medical grounds.
