HC Deb 15 December 1947 vol 445 cc302-4W
Mr. Sharp

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what is the average period that elapses between the submission of accounts by film producers to the Central Office of Information and their payment; and what complaints he has received from film producers that the delay in payment causes them financial embarrassment.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

The average period is 12 days, provided that the accounts are correct and in accordance with the terms of the contract. Complaints have been received on occasions from a particular film producer that delay in payment caused him financial embarrassment. Investigation of the complaints showed there was no undue delay in paying accounts properly due for settlement.
