HC Deb 04 December 1947 vol 445 c85W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Health why a miner named James Walton living at Silkstone was refused permission by the regional housing officer to build a house for his and his family's own occupation, although his application had been approved and a building licence had been issued to him by the rural district council concerned, by the joint planning committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and regional authority; and if he will review this decision.

Mr. Bevan

Consent to the issue of a licence in this case was withheld in the first instance as it did not appear to be within the scope of the circular of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy, but was granted subsequently after consideration of further representations.
