§ Mr. Mitchisonasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that Mr. T. H. Render, of 58, Wellington Street, Kettering, had nearly 30 years as a miner before he was directed to leave the Silsworth Colliery in 1940 and to work with J. Lucas, at Birmingham; that on 22nd March, 1947, Mr. Render applied to the Department's office in Kettering to go back to the Silsworth Colliery; why, notwithstanding subsequent applications, no arrangements have been made for his en- 96W gagement there; what has happened to the papers about his last application, including a letter from the manager of the colliery offering him employment; and if he will now make immediate arrangements for Mr. Render's employment at the colliery.
§ Mr. IsaacsI regret that I have not yet been able to obtain full information about this case. I understand, however, Mr. Render travelled to Silsworth on 28th July to take up employment with the colliery. I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as my inquiries are complete.
