HC Deb 21 April 1947 vol 436 c56W
19. Mr. Henderson Stewart

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the complaints made regarding the present omnibus stop at Boat Brae, Newport, Fifeshire, and of the many unsuccessful efforts of the Newport Town Council to obtain a more suitable stopping place; and what steps he is taking in the matter

Mr. Barnes

The stops at Boat Brae were fixed by the traffic commissioners in 1934 in arrangement with the Road Board of the County Council. The Chief Constable is satisfied with them. Proposals by the Town Council for alternative sites have not been acceptable either to the operators concerned or to the County Council. I have no power to intervene.
