asked the Minister of Transport why, on 22nd March, the 12.30 p.m. omnibus from Reading to Peppard was crowded with Polish troops, thus leaving 22 people behind, and the 2.30 p.m. omnibus at Peppard for Reading left 20 people behind; and what steps are being taken to improve this service.

I am informed that traffic was abnormally heavy on the day in question, because of a football match in Reading. The bus company claim that the service is adequate under normal conditions. The area traffic commissioners will, however, investigate whether the services in the district need strengthening
