HC Deb 17 April 1947 vol 436 cc30-1W
23. Colonel Gomme-Duncan

asked the President of the Board of Trade if, in view of the present difficult circumstances, he is now in a position to make a readjustment in the margins of profit allowed in the retail drapery and household textiles trades.

Sir S. Cripps

I have agreed to review the retail margins on cloth and clothing which were recently reduced, in the light of the reduction in the clothing ration. Discussions with the retail associations concerned will be held in the near future. The retail margins on household textiles were not reduced and the discussions on these will now be resumed.
