HC Deb 03 April 1947 vol 435 cc370-1W
Mr. M. Lindsay

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster the approximate number of displaced single males and unattached females over 14 years of age, or the nearest convenient age group, in the British zones in Germany and Austria, differentiating between the principal nationality groups and between Jewish and non-Jewish.

Mr. J. Hynd

No figures giving this information are at present available in respect of the British zone of Germany. In the case of Austria, the required information is appended in respect of single male and single female displaced persons over 16 years of age in the British 'zone; it is not possible to differentiate between unattached single people and those who have family dependants such as parents, brothers and sisters. The figures include aged persons and those who are infirm.
