asked the Assistant Postmaster-General how many B.B.C. transmitters there are in Great Britain; and how many there are in Scotland.

For Home programmes the B.B.C. have 50 transmitters on 37 sites in Great Britain—of these 10 transmitters on 6 sites are in Scotland. In addition, there are six B.B.C transmitting sites in Great Britain used for broadcasting overseas services, but none of these is in Scotland.

There is only one B.B.C. television transmitter in Great Britain. It is at the Alexandra Palace in London
