§ Mr. Mitchisonasked the President of the Board of Trade the reason for the cancellation of licences for the manufacture of containers for the products of Alumase, Limited, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire; whether he is aware that Rigid Containers, Limited, Des-borough, Northamptonshire, have material available for such manufacture, but that, as a result of the cancellation, Alumase, Limited, have had one export order cancelled, another threatened and will have to close down and dismiss 130 employees unless they can obtain containers; and what steps he proposes to take to provide containers for Alumase, Limited, and so obviate loss of production, export trade and employment.
§ Sir S. CrippsNo licence has been issued against the application submitted by this firm for the delivery of cases for packing their products. The amount applied for, however, is such that Rigid Containers, Ltd., might properly supply the containers from material made available to them under a bulk licence, which is designed to enable them to meet small orders.
