Mr. Battley

asked the Minister of Health if he will give in separate categories, the numbers of houses, business premises and factories which were destroyed, badly damaged and slightly damaged through enemy action in the borough of Wandsworth giving separate figures for the division of Clapham; how many houses have been restored and rebuilt; and if he will give the total number of new houses, both permanent and temporary, completed or in course of erection in the borough.

The following are the figures. I regret that I cannot give separate figures for the Parliamentary Division of Clapham.

The number repaired by the local authority to a standard of reasonable comfort was 51,234.

In addition, civil building licences have been issued for further repair to 7,054 dwellings, made up as follows:
