HL Deb 31 October 1946 vol 143 c956WA
LORD WALERAN

asked His Majesty's Government whether a list can be provided of the principal accident black spots on the highways of this country together with an indication as to what action is being taken in each case to improve road conditions at those points.

LORD WALKDEN

The principal accident black spots on the highways of the country are shown on the police accident maps, which are regularly the subject of discussion between the police, the engineers to the appropriate highway authority, and the Divisional Road Engineer of the Ministry of Transport with a view to remedial action being taken as soon as possible. Works to improve conditions at accident "black spots" have a very high position in the Ministry of Transport's priority list, and are put in hand as the supply of labor and other conditions permit.

House adjourned at twenty minutes before six o'clock.
