§ 106. Major N. Macphersonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that disappointment has been felt by friends of this country abroad whose services in sheltering British airmen in enemy-occupied countries have been recognised merely by a printed certificate; and if he will now consider the issue of a medal or emblem as well as the certificate.
Mr. McNeilService in sheltering British airmen or helping them to escape may also in particular instances be recognised by the grant of the George Medal, by appointment to the Order of the British Empire, by the award of the British Empire Medal, the King's Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom, or a King's Commendation for brave conduct, with the accompanying Emblem. In the circumstances it is not proposed to recommend the institution of any medal or emblem for general distribution in addition to the certificate.
