HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 c102W
93. Mr. Hurd

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will now increase the value of the dockets issued to married couples setting up house so that they can buy more than three single sheets and two blankets.

Mr. Belcher

Owing to the continued shortage of textiles, the most we can at present allow to a married couple is two blankets and three sheets for each bed in use, but considerable quantities of Government surplus blankets are now being released and should soon be available in the shops.
