HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 c102W
91. Mr. Erroll

asked the President of the Board of Trade what cotton crops, by year and month, are at present being sold to spinners in this country in respect of Brazilian, U.S., Egyptian, and Peruvian cottons.

Mr. Marquand

Brazilian cotton is being sold from the 1944 crop, Peruvian cotton from the 1945 crop, Egyptian cotton from the 1941, 1944, 1945 and 1946 crops, and American cotton partly from the 1945 crop and partly from cotton supplied under Lend-Lease, the crop year of which is not known. It is impossible to state the month as our cotton stocks are not segregated by months.
