HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 cc106-7W
102. Mr. Gammans

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why ships taking illegal immigrants to Palestine have not been taken back to the ports or places of embarkation by ships of the R.N.

Mr. Creech Jones

There are many grave and practical difficulties, not the least of which is that the illegal immigrants are, in the large majority of cases, not nationals of the countries of embarkation and had entered those countries without the proper formalities.
