HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 cc96-7W
75. Mr. Turton

asked the Minister of Food when he intends to move the 40 tons of tinned meat, Kam, that have been stored in requisitioned buildings at Norton Conyers, Yorkshire, since 30th September, 1943; and why in the prevailing food shortage in this country and in Europe this food is being allowed to deteriorate and not made available to consumers.

Mr. Strachey

The meat has now been moved. There was a failure to follow our normal rule of clearing the oldest stocks first. As a matter of fact I understand that there is no probability that this canned meat has deteriorated.
