Mr. H. D. Hughesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the order of 23rd May, 1946 made under the Defence Regulations, which provides that a strike is illegal unless the dispute has been referred to the labour officer and 14 days have elapsed without the matter having been referred to the tribunal, is still in force in the Bahamas.
