HC Deb 28 October 1946 vol 428 c55W
Mr. H. D. Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the order of 23rd May, 1946 made under the Defence Regulations, which provides that a strike is illegal unless the dispute has been referred to the labour officer and 14 days have elapsed without the matter having been referred to the tribunal, is still in force in the Bahamas.

Mr. Creech Jones

The Bahamas Trade Disputes Settlement Order, 1946, is, so far as I am aware, still in force. I am in communication with the Governor of the Bahamas regarding it, and I will write to my hon. Friend later on.
