asked the Minister of Labour whether he will give an assurance that direction of labour in the building industry is not planned or contemplated.

There is still a limited amount of direction of labour in the building industry for urgent jobs of high priority, mainly housing, for which labour cannot be found in any other way. No extension of existing practice is contemplated.
