HC Deb 21 November 1946 vol 430 c183W
Mr. Hoy

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the names of all housing authorities who have made arrangements for the building of homes for aged people; the number of such houses to date; and if he will include in the Monthly Progress Report the number of houses completed for aged people.

Mr. Buchanan

For the present, local authorities are necessarily concentrating on the larger types of houses required for family use, but the following table gives particulars of local authorities whose current schemes include, partly in the form of hostel accommodation, one- and two-apartment houses, most of which I am informed are designed for aged persons. I regret that it is impossible to give separate figures showing the numbers of houses for aged persons completed.

Local Authority Tenders approved for
One-apartment houses. Two-apartment houses.
